In short: most counter data stays on your device. The app also uses limited analytics, diagnostics, and optional feedback submission features to help improve reliability and understand how the app is used.
Overview
Click Counter is a utility app that lets you create and manage counters on your device. Your counters, folders, values, goals, descriptions, and most app settings are stored locally on your device.
Click Counter also uses certain third-party services, including Google Firebase and Sentry, to support analytics, limited telemetry, diagnostics, and optional feedback submission features.
Information Stored on Your Device
The app stores the following information locally on your device:
- counter titles, values, goals, steps, and descriptions
- folder names and folder order
- counter order and app preferences such as theme and language
- limited app state such as first-launch date and review prompt state
This local data is used to provide the app’s core functionality. It is not automatically uploaded as part of the app’s basic counter functionality, except where described in this policy for analytics, telemetry, diagnostics, sharing, export, or feedback features.
Analytics and Telemetry
Click Counter uses Google Firebase Analytics to collect analytics and usage information. This helps identify which features are used, measure app interactions, and improve stability and product decisions.
Analytics data may include information such as:
- app interaction events
- device and platform information
- app version and technical metadata
- technical identifiers provided by Firebase Analytics
- an app-install-level identifier used for product telemetry and aggregated usage analysis
- limited usage snapshot data, such as the number of counters or folders in the app
The developer does not use this analytics data to directly identify you personally.
Crash Reporting and Diagnostics
Click Counter uses Sentry for crash reporting, error monitoring, and performance diagnostics. Diagnostic data may include technical information such as app version, device or platform details, database version, error information, performance traces, and related reliability metadata.
This information is used to investigate bugs, monitor app stability, and improve performance. The app is configured not to intentionally send unnecessary personal information through diagnostics.
Optional Feedback You Submit
If you choose to use the in-app feedback form, the information you submit may be stored on servers used by the developer. This may include:
- your message
- your name, if you choose to provide it
- your email address, if you choose to provide it
- your locale, platform, app version, and submission timestamp
This information is used only to review feedback, understand use cases, and improve the app.
External Links and Third-Party Services
The app may open external services or apps when you choose to use certain features, for example:
- opening your email app to contact the developer
- opening the Google Play page for the app
- opening the Buy Me a Coffee page
- sharing counter content through apps you select
When you use these features, the external service or app you open may process data according to its own privacy policy.
Third-party services used by the app or website may include:
- Google Firebase Analytics
- Google Cloud Firestore
- Sentry
- Google Analytics on this website
Children’s Privacy
Click Counter is intended for a general audience. The app does not knowingly request personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact me so I can review the situation.
Data Sharing
I do not sell your personal data. Data may be processed by third-party service providers only as needed to operate app features described in this policy, such as analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, diagnostics, hosting, or optional feedback processing.
Data Retention
Data stored locally on your device remains there until you delete it, clear the app’s storage, or uninstall the app, subject to how your device and operating system manage local data.
Analytics, telemetry, diagnostic, and feedback data may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, analyze, and improve the app, comply with legal obligations, and resolve support or technical issues.
Your Choices
Because your counters and preferences are stored locally on your device, you can delete app data by clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling the app, subject to how your device and operating system handle local data removal.
If you would like to request deletion of feedback or other server-stored information that you voluntarily submitted, you can contact me using the email address below. I may need enough information to identify the relevant record.
International Processing
Third-party service providers used by the app or website may process data in countries other than your own. By using the app or submitting feedback, you understand that data may be processed by service providers in accordance with their infrastructure and privacy practices.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When I do, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
